Characters / Members Present:
Kaiden / Brandon
Crusher / Christopher
Scramm / Landon
Notes :
The night begins with another new conquest and an almost-new Dungeon Master.
This adventure fulfills two purposes:
1) To give our DM an occasional break and a chance to take on the role of player
2) To fill any gaps that may occur in our DM's ability to lead (work, vacations, illness, etc.)
Our new cast of characters are:
Kaiden - HalfElf (Human)
Crusher - Fairy
Scramm - Harengaon
At this time, none of the characters has a class as they are all level O...yep, that's right level ZERO. This is new to all of us, but looks like a fun way to begin one of the newest campaigns offered in the D&D 5E world.
During this session basic rules and tactics were discussed.
We will be using D&D 5th Edition for setting most of our standards and guidelines. All players will be “allowed” use of the Player’s Handbook plus one other canon resource agreed upon by the DM.
This campaign will be a milestone adventure. XP will not drive character advancement…rather, a completed goal or accomplishment will move all players present to the next level. Because I have chosen this method of advancement, make-up sessions will be made available for any absentees that wish to attend one for a missed session.
Much like our Forsaken Lands campaigns, future sessions will be stories moved along by making group decisions and taking group actions/adventures - with the DM as narrator/guide. The DM will be more and more a respondent, and the group members will take more and more of a lead in their actions. Please remember that not all foes need to be vanquished – or even fought!!
As always, we will generally meet the last Saturday night of each month at 17:00 when the regular adventure would have taken place, but has been sidelined for one reason or another.
The session began with the fleshing out of characters. Because the characters are all level O, there was no assigningof “officers”, marching order, or watch order.
A Fae trinket was picked by each party member. Character Checklists were distributed, and players were encouraged to accomplish individual achievements that would line up with what they would like to be when they grow up (class).
