This is not only something our current DM has encouraged the members of our group to try, but also gave me a chance to learn a different aspect of D&D game play. And to ice the cake, it enabled him to have a night of play and interaction that he rarely gets to experience as well.
The adventure used was from a pre-written mini-series created by Kristjan Matthiasson for level 2 characters which I found pre-rolled as well. (I did not want to spend a third of the night choosing and rolling player characters for a one-night campaign.) After a week of prep and lots of questions posed to the regular DM I was ready! Or was I?
Knowing the experience and strategic abilities of our group, I bumped up the mobs some...and almost wiped the group! Some on-the-fly tweaking of mob AC and also their Hit Points, some really bad dice rolls (fortunate for the heroes) ... well apparently this is how DM'g goes.
Please enjoy the read! I enjoyed the experience!
