Minecraft

For that one person who is reading this going "What the hell is Minecraft?" I say this, "Where the Hell have you been?"

Minecraft is what is known as a "Sandbox" game. If you are unfamiliar with the genre, it is basically this in concept:  You start off in a world with little or no items and set out to collect resources.  From these you craft supplies for gathering, mining, building, hunting, and the like.  You use these to survive and make great and wonderful structures, go adventuring, or travel to other dimensions.

I will also add that this game can be a VERY addictive game for those of us with a creative streak in us, as it allows us to do and create things that we either could not or would not be able to in real life.  With that, I give you the following quote from the Minecraft website:

Minecraft is a game about breaking and placing blocks. At first, people built structures to protect against nocturnal monsters, but as the game grew players worked together to create wonderful, imaginative things.

It can also be about adventuring with friends or watching the sun rise over a blocky ocean. It’s pretty. Brave players battle terrible things in The Nether, which is more scary than pretty. You can also visit a land of mushrooms if it sounds more like your cup of tea.

The ForsakenCraft Server (my server) would be considered a multi-player "Survival" server.  In layman terms, this basically means that the primary objective is to stay alive, and while doing so you can also build and explore. It is a white-listed server, meaning that you have to be on an "approved user" list in order to log on.  For more detailed info on my server click here.
