Tyranny Of Dragons:
Vola's Campsite Companions

Gilwë

Next I wish to tell you of my new friend Gilwë.
Gilwë is a Half-Elf Warlock who made his home in the tallest tree in the Forgotten Forest, and who studied and took care of a library as assistant to the Librarian.
He is a meek being and does not really like to be around lots of people.  He loves solitude and the books which he carries with him at all times. In fact, I had to pry him out of one just to get him to talk with me this night!
He came across this group when we joined each other for the common quest of defending those weaker and less able than ourselves.  As we banded together outside of Greenest, he became aware that we might benefit from some of the knowledge he has gained from all the books he has read.
So far he has come across a lot of creatures he has never before seen, and was even killed.  But a Being kept him alive for an agenda not yet fully known by him. It has been a long and grueling road for this tame apprentice librarian.
He has not decided if he likes being away from his old surroundings and away from quiet and the volumes which he attended.  But the Librarian told him to leave, venture forth, and bring back a report of his experiences.  Sometimes Gilwë thinks the great teacher just wanted him out from underfoot for awhile so some alone time could be enjoyed.
But as for now, his adventure still continues and he will stay with our group, continuing to read his books at every opportunity – even while the others of us rest – so he can learn even more.
There is one issue which perplexes him, however….. It ‘s a book, a book that called to him from a corner of his library, that he carries with him always. It promised him power in exchange for him doing its bidding, and was the source of The Voice that revived him when he died.  But it has yet to fully disclose what it will require of him, and what powers it will bestow.  He is sure that one day it will communicate its full intent and reveal the wonders and secrets between its pages.
